With the emergence of the world's first mutant, Apocalypse, the X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.Thinking about all the XMen movies made me feel old. Finally after 5 years we finally come to another chapter closing in the XMen franchise. Yes, XMen Apocalypse is the closing of the First Class trilogy that kicked in during 2011. After the great of Days Of Future Past, can the XMen franchise get any better? The answer is... No.. Not really.
I for one like this movie a lot. It was entertaining enough to keep me awake the whole time except that guy who was snoring in the cinema the whole time. It has a decent story with great actors portraying great characters that I certainly have grown to love like Prof X, Magneto, Quicksilver and Beast. I also like the new character Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. I mean man, Quicksilver and Nightcrawler is the best. They had the best action beats. Speaking of action, this movie has some really awesomely great scenes especially the action scenes. Like there was some really great scene with Quicksilver that will actually made you laugh and at the edge of your seat. Besides that, it also have some great emotional scenes that will make true XMen fans cry. The visual homage to some really great stuff really made me felt happy. Great visual effect all around. I like the character designs. It has a haunting music score. I just love the music and it certainly helped this movie a lot.
Here is the problems that this movie has. A movie called Apocalypse making the character Apocalypse seems wasted is such a waste. He was scary and he was very powerful bitnI felt nothing more than that. Such a one dimensional character. His horsemen which was not powerful even after their power upgrade, was useless except from Magneto that is. I can name a few character that was so underutilized, it made me feel so annoyed.I like the heroes so much but I am dissapointed to see some of them really-really emotionless (looking at you JLaw). In addotion, the plot was slow at time it made me feel the movie was dragging. It got kinda boring and did made a guy sleep. True story. Im my opinion, it didn't suffers the 'Too much going on' disease but it does felt a little over convoluted at times and thats not a good thing.
Yes it was kinda messy at parts but I still liked this movie. It was entertaining and fun to watch. It had a lot of great stuff with also great cameos from some certain character that you would like to see again. Some great visual representation for whats to come in the future. Don't forget to stay until the end because there is a end-credit scene. I give this movie a solid 'B' or 3/5. Go watch it. Definitely recommended for all.
