Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home he's ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther and a free-spirited bear the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.
We had a movie of the same name back in 1967 and it was fun filled animated movie for kids. This movie, however, is much more than that. It had everything the old movie had but it was presented with a fresher new take which was amazingly done. This movie was directed masterfully with shots that only helped this movie better than it already were. The story was simple and almost similar to the older movie but as I said before, it was told to us with another take. This movie was not just its fun-filled adventures that we had, it was also intense and really scary at some times. The characters were written greatly with depth and layers that sometimes were absent in this kind of a movie. The voice actors was amazing and the only actor, the newcomer Neel Sethi was amazing. I would never have imagined the performance showed by Neel from the trailer. He did a great job by fully embracing who Mowgli is. Same can be said to Bill Murray who voiced Baloo. He was great. The best thing I can say from this movie is its visuals. It was stunning. It was at the level where sometimes you would even ask, is this real? Did they used real panther? It was pure wonder.
The only takeaway from this movie was the absence of some characters. Even Scarlett Johansen's Kaa, only had very little screen time. I thought she was underutilized. The score can be better but it was good anyways.
This movie was a great movie to watch. It filled me with much joy. It had a lot of great moments and I certainly appreciate how great the technology has gotten the movie industry into. The visuals was a sight to behold in this movie. I would give this movie an A.Definitely recommended for everyone to watch this.
