X-Men Apocalypse

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some minor spoilers ahead. You've been warned!

With the emergence of the world's first mutant, Apocalypse, the X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.Thinking about all the XMen movies made me feel old. Finally after 5 years we finally come to another chapter closing in the XMen franchise. Yes, XMen Apocalypse is the closing of the First Class trilogy that kicked in during 2011. After the great of Days Of Future Past, can the XMen franchise get any better? The answer is... No.. Not really.

I for one like this movie a lot. It was entertaining enough to keep me awake the whole time except that guy who was snoring in the cinema the whole time. It has a decent story with great actors portraying great characters that I certainly have grown to love like Prof X, Magneto, Quicksilver and Beast. I also like the new character Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. I mean man, Quicksilver and Nightcrawler is the best. They had the best action beats. Speaking of action, this movie has some really awesomely great scenes especially the action scenes. Like there was some really great scene with Quicksilver that will actually made you laugh and at the edge of your seat. Besides that, it also have some great emotional scenes that will make true XMen fans cry. The visual homage to some really great stuff really made me felt happy. Great visual effect all around. I like the character designs. It has a haunting music score. I just love the music and it certainly helped this movie a lot.

Here is the problems that this movie has. A movie called Apocalypse making the character Apocalypse seems wasted is such a waste. He was scary and he was very powerful bitnI felt nothing more than that. Such a one dimensional character. His horsemen which was not powerful even after their power upgrade, was useless except from Magneto that is. I can name a few character that was so underutilized, it made me feel so annoyed.I like the heroes so much but I am dissapointed to see some of them really-really emotionless (looking at you JLaw). In addotion, the plot was slow at time it made me feel the movie was dragging. It got kinda boring and did made a guy sleep. True story. Im my opinion, it didn't suffers the 'Too much going on' disease but it does felt a little over convoluted at times and thats not a good thing.

Yes it was kinda messy at parts but I still liked this movie. It was entertaining and fun to watch. It had a lot of great stuff with also great cameos from some certain character that you would like to see again. Some great visual representation for whats to come in the future. Don't forget to stay until the end because there is a end-credit scene. I give this movie a solid 'B' or 3/5. Go watch it. Definitely recommended for all.

Angry Birds

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead! You've been warned.

Ever thinking this movie is a video game movie. Assassin's Creed, World of Warcraft and then theres Angry Birds. Yeay! Wohoo! In all seriousness, I just wanna say that I actually enjoyed this movie. It's good or bad its all up to you. I for one enjoyed the games and you know what, this movie did a great job telling us the possibilities of new angle that they can tackle in the future. There are this part when they tease possible future and I loved it. Its not the story or the plot that really made me excited, its really the humor, the characters, which I find amusing and of course the nostalgia of me playing the game like crazy 4 years ago. Ahhh.. the good old times. The characters while I can say they were crazily generic, it still fits the whole story. Chuck is my favorite! Say whatever you want but I think he is my hero. Josh Gad was perfect for this role. Each characters were given with their character moment to shine and their development was present on screen. Never thought of that in this kind of a movie. The humor! Did I mentioned the humor? It was not the best of the best and sometimes it failed to deliver but the fact that this movie played with how ridiculous the situation was great! My kind of humor. It was meta and kinda timed greatly and it just tickled me. I can say the humuor was great minus the pee joke.

There is always something to laugh about and this movie do have some issue. Like I said countless time ( 3 times actually. If you have seen the movie you will understand) there are good elements of this movie but it was certainly not the best. There was always some element that I see as lacklustre. There are minor stuff thay should correct of everything in the movie and I think if they did that, this movie could have been so much better. Never mind, the animation was top notch so there you go!

Yeah. I liked this movie a lot and I wanna see it again for how ridiculous it was. It was so much fun and that Chuck moment in front of the vault was amazing. I recommend all everyone ( kids, ask your parents) to watch this and have a good time. This movie gets a B+! There is somekind of a mid-credit scene so stay awhile.

Captain America: Civil War

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned!

Political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Iron Man sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, all superheroes must pick a side while a mysterious villain takes advantage of the situation to worsen the scenario.

I've been waiting so long for this and I finally got to see it. It was a good as I want it to be. Great story with great set pieces all around in this movie. The plot was so good it will keep you locked into the movie the whole time. This was a well directed and beautifully shot movie. The action scene was spectacularly amazing (pun intended). The airport sequence is the best I've ever seen in a Marvel movie. Heck, the best I've seen in any superhero movie. You would never believe how much surprise that one sequence have for you. Just sit back and enjoy the whole thing. It was amazing. The actors did a great job. All of them were great in their role. My favorite performance came from Robert Downey Jr. His performance just elevated from a walking quip dispenser into such much more. Being said that, I still think the best character of this movie is Black Panther. His whole arc was so great and it will get you ready for his solo movie in 2018. Same goes to Spiderman who I think came in at my number two spot. These two characters are the ones who you should look up for. Ant Man was amazing for the little time he have in this movie. The third act of this movie was emotionally brutal and it was so great. I had teary eyes. Tears of joy and sadness. This movie ends with us wondering whats next for these character and I think that is a good sign.

I will now nitpick tell all of you the part I think can be done better. The score should be done better. The visuals was amazing but I think they should really do something to make it look better. The fight scene while it was awesome, sometimes  felt it as a little bit shakier than normal which made me confuse for a while. The villain, Crossbones and Zemo. While I think I love Zemo , Crossbones was totally wasted in this movie. What a shame

This movie was amazing. Go and watch it and judge it by yourself. I loved it and I think I will probably go and see it again. Definitely recommended to all. I will give this movie an 'A'. Good Job Marvel. You did it again!

The Jungle Book

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead, you've been warned!

Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home he's ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther and a free-spirited bear the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.

We had a movie of the same name back in 1967 and it was fun filled animated movie for kids. This movie, however, is much more than that. It had everything the old movie had but it was presented with a fresher new take which was amazingly done. This movie was directed masterfully with shots that only helped this movie better than it already were. The story was simple and almost similar to the older movie but as I said before, it was told to us with another take. This movie was not just its fun-filled adventures that we had, it was also intense and really scary at some times. The characters were written greatly with depth and layers that sometimes were absent in this kind of a movie. The voice actors was amazing and the only actor, the newcomer Neel Sethi was amazing. I would never have imagined the performance showed by Neel from the trailer. He did a great job by fully embracing who Mowgli is. Same can be said to Bill Murray who voiced Baloo. He was great. The best thing I can say from this movie is its visuals. It was stunning. It was at the level where sometimes you would even ask, is this real? Did they used real panther? It was pure wonder.

The only takeaway from this movie was the absence of some characters. Even Scarlett Johansen's Kaa, only had very little screen time. I thought she was underutilized.  The score can be better but it was good anyways.

This movie was a great movie to watch. It filled me with much joy. It had a lot of great moments and I certainly appreciate how great the technology has gotten the movie industry into. The visuals was a sight to behold in this movie. I would give this movie an A.Definitely recommended for everyone to watch this.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers. You've been warned!

It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod from Man Of Steel that devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor  launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

OMG! This is movies is finally here. After 3 years of anticipation, finally we have come to this day where I review it. First of all let me just say that I actually liked the movie. I liked it a lot and it made me wanna watch it again. Here are the things that I like about this movie. First of all, this movie was masterfully shot. It was great looking movie from the start to end. Its something we can expect watching Zack Snyder's work. The action scenes were amazing. It was intense and amazingly choreographed. It sometimes felt like a CGI fest but it was still wonderful. The characters, Ben Affleck's Batman killed it, literally. He embodies the Batman character and dare I say it, he was the highlight of the movie. I liked how Jeremy Iron's Alfred and Batman communicate. All the comedy came from him. Cavill's Superman was great. So much improvement from Man Of Steel. He had more line and more emotion to convey this time around. Amy Adams was great. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was awesome. I felt so happy when I finally saw her. Sadly, her grand entrance doesn't surprise me. Jesse Einsenberg's Lex Luthor was scary as hell. He brought the Luthor I wanted. The genius megalomaniac billionaire that we all love to hate. The soundtrack was great. I loved Wonder Woman's theme the most. Batman and Lex's theme was all present and they were astonishing. The easter eggs scattered through the movie was so many its impossible for me to spot them all. The cameos was great but I felt it was a bit shoehorned sometimes.

This movie is great but its far from perfect. As a DCEU supporter from day 1, I expected more from this movie. I had a great time, but I was asking my cousin who is a casual movie goer, he doesn't understand anything that happened in this movie starting from the second act. First of all, there were a lot of things that the trailer spoiled us with, which was stupid. Remember I said that the action was great? It was but building up to it took a lot of time. The pacing was off. It was steady at times then it started dragging then suddenly its quick. Its all over the place. There are some plot points where we weren't clear about. They had something happen and the left it with no explanation. They expect all of us to think of the reason ourselves which is not how things work. Sometimes I was there figuring out some other stuff about the movie while watching some completely different scene. There were also these dream sequence. It was good but a bit misplaced and it doesn't really move much story points forward. All of this happens because this movie was juggling so many things at the same time. They made Batman kill which is weird but I went with it. I talked bout shoehorned cameos? Yes there were a lot and it felt forced. It doesn't help the story but it set ups the next movies in line which was interesting but  seems a bit out of place. Setting future movie does not really pays off well. Basically, all I want to say that the story was a bit messy and the execution was worse. I am pretty sure there is some other things I miss but this is my thoughts I am having right now.

I will see this again somehow and I am here hoping that I will like it more from my next viewing. I hope the 3 hours ultimate cut will shed some light on the problem they had in this movie. All in all, this movie was enjoyable and was a great addition to the DCEU. I will keep supporting it and definitely will recommend all of you to watch this movie. The Batman v Superman scene alone, was worth the price of admission. I'll give this movie a 'B' score for now. I'll see if I'll have any changes in the near future.

Boboiboy: The Movie

Silalah menonton beramai-ramai. Sokong filem tempatan.

London Has Fallen

I have seen this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers. You've been warned!

After the death of the British prime minister, the world's most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organization, it's up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate.

Bigger does not mean better. This movie have some problem but first, let me tell you the good things about this movie. This movies has a very simple story and plot which I don't hate. The characters were actually lovable. Gerrad Butler once again proven he is a badass. He was so entertaining in this movie. His chemistry with Aaron Eckhart was great. This movie had so many funny moments so that really helped. The action scene was intense and very entertaining. It kept me and the audience hooked into the movie.

This movie had a lot of potential but there was a lot of things lacking. The pacing of this movie was a lot slower. There was this part where they killed of a bunch of characters after they took like 5 minutes trying to introduce them. It was fine but the introduction part can be skipped. The 3rd act was intense but the other was kinda slow. This movie was also really predictable. If you have seen the trailer, you will get how this movie will move forward. That was lame. The worst part of this movie is its CGI. It was really bad until it made me laugh. They should have focused more on the graphics because it really was an eyesore.

This movie tries to capture the classic action movie style genre and I think they made it. There were some sloppy mistakes here and there but in the end I had some fun with this movie so I'll give this movie a 'C+'. Watch this if you have no other things to do.

Zootopia

I have seen this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers. You've been warned!

Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde, a wily fox who makes her job even harder.

I like this movie. It has good story and a very interesting plot. It seems like this is a movie for kids but this movie far more messages and things to convey to all us. Its so mature yet so cute and cuddly. The animation was good. The characters was fantastic! We get to know the main characters and we fell in love completely. We root for them even from the start. Ginnefer Goodwin and Jason Bateman was great as the voice cast. It has great music and a good original soundtrack from Shakira who also played the character Gazelle.

The only thing that disliked was how the movie was so simple that I could see the bad guy coming from a mile away. Well this movie was meant for kids (and adults), do you think they should ever go with a complicated plot? I don't think so.

I love this movie. I enjoyed it. I recommend for all to see. Its funny, cute and yet very mature in terms of theme. It was full of messages that we as a human being should consider in our live. I would give this movie with an 'A'.

Deadpool

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoiler ahead. You've been warned!

A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopting the alter ego Deadpool.

Pros:
1. The action in this movie was smart and brilliantly choreographed. It made good use of slow motion and the camera work was astonishing. Although it was most of the movie like I thought it would, but when the excitement of the action scenes were enough to make us happy throughout the whole movie. It has a lot of blood too which is fun.

2. The story was a little bit simple but the way it was told was great. Flashbacks and flashforwards throughout the whole movie still didn't confuse me.

3. Great performances from everyone especially Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. His take on the character was Marvellous (no pun intended). Every other character was good because with great acting, comes a great movie characters.

4.The humor in this movie was the best thing ever. It was meta and good enough to get me laughing 80% of the time watching it. There were some other great moments that doesn't involved humor too. It is the perfect blend in making a perfect deadpool movie.

5.There was a lot of easter eggs in the movie. Just make sure you watched all the X-Men and Ryan Reynold's movies to get it. It was just amazing jabs at everything Deadpool (Ryan) has went through.

Cons:
1. Flashbacks and flashforward sometimes took me out the 'zone' for a while. It was a pace killer sometimes.

This movie was great from start to finish. It has one (or maybe more ) minor hiccup(s) but it was a super entertaining movie. Make sure to wait until the credits end because there is something you should see. I would give this movie an 'A'. Recommended for everyone. Go watch this now.

The 5th Wave

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoiler ahead. You've been warned!

This movie had a great start. It was intense and it was interesting enough for me to be excited. It had two spiderman references which is an attempt to make people to know spiderman belongs to Sony. It had great visual and some cool looking scenes but then it starts to fall apart with problems like inconsistency and just pure dumbness. First it was Independence Day with even the same shot borrowed from the 1996 movie. Then by the second act, this movie started to be this romantic movie where the girl started to fall in love with a hot stranger and had a journey together. It Twilight all over again. You see Alien ship hovering above and you still go to school to learn Math? Go home movie, you're drunk.

The acting was just fine but that one kid actor was just bad. He needs more time to learn. Then there was this random characters popping in some shot just to turn out to be somewhat in the movie. Chloe Grace Moretz was finw but I think she can do better. Her character was , at time a bit wooden. The 5th Wave was supposed to be something grand but it turns out that it was the lamest 'wave' The first three wave were so much cooler. Plus, the main actor wasn't even in action during the 5th wave. She was stuck in love, twilight style! Seriously, if the movie stuck at the training and camp stuff, it would have been better. At least make the journey for Cassie(Chloe's character) more scary and intense. The movie stopped everytime you see the main character and that is nor a good sign. Whatever character bonding stuff they did was not working and it didn't really help the story.

In conclusion, this is an alien invasion/survival movie but turns out, it is a love story. The writer tried so hard to make this an intense survival movie but in the end its all about love. The whole movie doesn't make sense and the lot was just terrible and the story was just outright dumb so I gave this movie a 'D' or 3/10!

Will you go see this movie? If you have seen it, how will you rate it? Follow me for more reviews like this!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might some spoilers ahead. You've been warned!

Thirty years after defeating the Galactic Empire, Han Solo and his new and former allies faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and his army of Stormtroopers.

Pros:

  • Great direction from JJ Abrams. This movie had great shots and it was beautiful.
  • Great performance from all actors. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and others.
  • Great writing. This movie will make you crave for more Star Wars! Where is Episode 8 when I need it? Characters was interesting too. Rey stole the show. Again, Daisy Ridley was amazing. Poe Dameron was badass and the returning characters was good too. You never know how I missed the banter between Han and Chewie and we will get it in this movie.
  • Great villain. Motivated and strong. Great performance from Adam Driver
  • Action packed.  This movie was filled with action. Wonderfully shot and written. Exciting through every on of it! You will never get bored in this movie.
  • Great graphic although needs a little work with something. It was amazing how they have practical effects with CGI. Great score. Its John Williams! Will it ever be bad?

Cons:

  • Some characters was not fleshed out well. I really need something more from them. I still need more reason for me to side with them.
  • Something were left unanswered. I hope they will answer this in the next movie.
  • CGI characters were too obvious. They used too much practical and when the motion captured characters appeared, they became very obvious.

Overall this movie was really fun. It was funny and action packed. Certainly better the prequels if you ask me. I cried and laughed when watching. It certainly marks that Star Wars is here and it is here to stay. I'll give this an 'A'. Recommended for all. Certainly watch the original trilogy before you watch this, because it will give you more impact when watching this.

The Hunger Games: MockingJay Part 2

I had the chance to watch the movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned.

Realizing the stakes are no longer just for survival, Katniss Everdeen teams up with her closest friends, including Peeta, Gale and Finnick for the ultimate mission. Together, they leave District 13 to liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and assassinate President Snow, who's obsessed with destroying Katniss. What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies and moral choices that will ultimately determine the future of million.
I will divide my review by two parts

Pros:
  • This movie was shot in a great way. The director made a great job.
  • Acting was brilliant. Everyone in this was good. Always at the top of their game. Jennifer Lawrence was really-really good. Excellent job.
  • Graphics were great. The graphic made the action scenes looked great. Nothing more to say.
  • Action scene were awesome. There wasn't much of it, but once we get to it, we will be at the edge of our seats.
  • Music score were almost perfect. Really digging it. Soundtrack was great too. The musics moved me.
  • This is, overall, a very satisfying conclusion for the whole saga.
Cons:
  • Pacing. The pacing was dreadfully slow. It felt too long sometimes. There were too much story to be resolved but ultimately it wasn't as impact-full as we wanted it to be.
  • Underused characters. Actors were great but some of them were underused. Too many of them bit the dust but we didn't really felt the sadness. Yes they had their fair share of screentime in the last movie but that was 1 year ago. They should find a way to make those people who died with a meaningful death.

This movie was a fine ending to the saga. I had fun with it although it got boring sometimes. This movie was emotional and were really dark. I would give this movie a solid 'B'. Highly recommended to all fans and non-fans. Be sure to watch the previous ones before getting into this.

Spectre

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some spoilers, you've been warned!

A cryptic message from the past leads James Bond to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets the beautiful widow of an infamous criminal. After infiltrating a secret meeting, 007 uncovers the existence of the sinister organization SPECTRE. Needing the help of the daughter of an old nemesis, he embarks on a mission to find her. As Bond ventures toward the heart of SPECTRE, he discovers a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks.

Because of my health condition I have come up with a new way to review the movies I watch. Here we go.

Pros:

  • Beautifully directed. This is a beautifully directed movie with great shots. Action scenes were nicely done as well.
  • Action packed. This movie has more action than its predecessor.
  • Amazing locations. New Mexico, Rome, Morocco and other places. This movie also had a nice call back to the older Daniel Craig James Bond movie particularly the villains.
  • Great music. Its called 'Writing on the wall'. Check it out. Of course the classic James Bond music were a nice too.

Cons:
  • Underused actors. Some of the actors were not given much of a character. No development.
  • Weak villain motivation. Its supposed to hit us hard with the revelation but ended making no sense at all. I didn't feel anything for Bond and the villain.
  • Over the top action sequence. It was indeed action packed but the action sequence was so like the old James Bond movies. We love some of the gritty and real action that we had in Skyfall.

I had some fun with this movie. This is not as bad as the older ones but certainly not as good as the last one. Great job for the filmmakers. I give this a solid 'B'. Recommended to all. It certainly a better movie than the ones we had in the past few weeks.

The Martian

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned.

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to survive.

I am fascinated. This review will be short and brief. This movie fascinate me with its story, plot, pacing, the dialogue, comedy and heart. Its about a man stranded on Mars, alone, but it doesn't come up depressing and sad. This movie came up to be a fun and thrilling ride all the way from its first scene to the last. There were some gut wrenching moments, some really emotional moments and it was sprinkled with humorous fun. Its a good blend. The best thing is that this movie was so good it made us felt like the whole movie was real and we were watching a documentary. It felt real and all of us root for Mark Watney. Speaking of which, this movie had a great ensemble cast and all of them gave their best performances. All of the characters were perfectly written and the execution was brilliantly done. The dynamics between the characters made the movie more and more real and believable and that's what really captivates me.

There were some amazing shot but, sometimes the special effects bothered me. It was not the best but it was still fine. Plus the score was just 'ok'. I can't imagine if this movie had better score. How cool would that be?

This movies was amazing from top to bottom. It has great story with amazing character and a spectacular  performances from the cast. This movie felt much-much shorter than its 2 hour 20 minutes runtime. I would give The Martian an 'A'. Recommended for all.

The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it.There might be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned!

Transported to a remote fortified outpost, Thomas and his fellow teenage Gladers find themselves in trouble after uncovering a diabolical plot from the mysterious and powerful organization WCKD. With help from a new ally, the Gladers stage a daring escape into the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with dangerous obstacles and crawling with the virus-infected Cranks. The Gladers only hope may be to find the Right Hand, a group of resistance fighters who can help them battle WCKD.

The Maze Runner movies can be the next 'Hunger Games' and it really had a lot of potential. The thing is, the movie tried and failed. It has great story but the story telling was not great. It was a bit boring and repetitive. We had the same kind of moments repeating throughout the movie. It was also felt like it was trying to remind us about the first movie over and over again. At first I was really into the movie but that toward the end, it got kinda boring. There were so many underdeveloped characters since this movie is all about Thomas. There was also a lot of death. The thing is their death does not mean much. It was like "sad... but whatever". The new character was good but one of them was kinda got left out by the second act of the movie. That's a bummer since he was so important at the start of the movie. The visual effect was cool but there were this one moment with the zombies really took me out of the movie. They suddenly cease to use practical effect like they did with the previous zombies we've seen. And yeah, this movie ended with no resolution. Its just that we have to watch the third one if we liked this one.

That being said, I actually liked this movie. I felt tense watching the first one and this movie up the stake and my emotions were stronger. This movie has better suspense throughout the movie even ,as I said, it kinda got really repetitive.  There were better action in the movie. More running. There were zombies and explosions. The actors, Dylan O' Brien and the other did a great job.  The characters was great although this movie really put their focus on Thomas alone making the others less developed. I could still feel his chemistry together with his fellow gladers especially Minho. They should really focus more on their relationship as friend so that everything that happens to them can make us feel sad and actually felt the lost. There were great visual effects (except the zombies part that I mentioned) and also great original score. Great but not iconic.

It was a fun thrill ride. There was action and drama and it should be just fun the whole movie. Don't expect to get a full resolved movie in the end because you are gonna go out dissapointed. I give this movie a 'B-'.  A  fun popcorn "young adult" flick which I really recommend if you have nothing to do in your life.

Hitman: Agent 47

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned!

An assassin, Agent 47 teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry.

This movie was not good but it was not as bad as what people say, at least in my perspective. The only great thing about this movie was the action. It has awesome, John Wick kinda action. That excites me a lot. I know that doesn't say much but there were a lot of action in this movie and I can say its about 70% of the movie. Basically, this movie should be be awesome but it wasn't. Everything else was not good. In fact it was a blunder. The plot was messy. There were no suspense and the whole story itself was bland. The dialogue was not good. It was so simple and it felt stupid. There were a lot of generic action movie dialogue. The acting was horrendous. It did not believe those characters at all. The best performance was given by the lead actors and both of them kicked ass but the others? They were simply horrible. There was no character development for any of those character except for the main hero of this movie which is not Agent 47. Even Zachary Quinto was not good. He is Spock (Star Trek) an emotionless character and he brought that character into this movie. The CGI were terrible and it really took me out of the moment.

I was really confused with something in this movie and the ending was not good. I enjoyed it because of the action but this kinda movie doesn't have to be made at all. Stop screwing video games please. I gave this movie a 'B-'. Recommended for Hitman fans and those who have nothing to do doing your free time.

Inside Out

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it. There may be some spoilers ahead. You've been warned.

After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.

Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger. Who would thought that these emotions have emotions! Pixar did and they presented it marvelously in this movie. I had no idea what to expect from this other than how it received great reviews. This story was so good, there were never a dull moment. The plot were so good. I felt tense throughout this movie. They did a great job making us feel joy, sadness and all the other emotions. This movie is definitely made for kids but the story and the message they were trying to convey is definitely for adults. This movie were also funny. Jokes for kids and adults. The characters were amazing and the voice actors was great too. Luis Black is perfect as Anger. Can't imagine anyone else now. Its has great score. Very great score and the animation was first class. This movie doesn't seem to have any flaw, because seeing flaws in this movie are totally based on your perspective and that's the geniuses of this movie.

This movie is clever and fun It is suitable for all ages. This movie was done perfectly and executed perfectly. Definitely one of the best pixar movie, EVER. I give this movie an 'A+'. Perfect score. Seriously, if you don't understand this movie.or you don't like it, you have no emotion. Recommended for all!

Pixels

I just had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There might be some spoilers in it. You've been warned!

This movie has been released about a month ago in the US but this is opening night here in Malaysia. Its late but whatever. This movie sets off  when aliens intercept video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war. They attack Earth using the games as models. Knowing that he must employ a similar strategy, President Will Cooper recruits his childhood pal, former video-game champ and home-theater installer Sam Brenner, to lead a team of old-school arcade players and a military specialist in an all-out battle to save the planet.

You gotta give it to Adam Sandler because this movie is yet another bad movie in his bad movie slates. I knew this was gonna be bad but I expected something so stupid its funny but what I got was something so dumb it disgust me. Seriously. The premise of the movie gave me hope and I thought its pretty creative but in the end I was left disappointed. At times, I felt like this movie is like rom-com where the boy was trying to impress the girl. The 1st and 2nd act was boring and nearly fell asleep. I was only focused on the movie when the aliens attacked. the 3rd act was better but still nothing much changed. I felt the movie dragged on far too long. There were a lot of flaw in the plot. Try to focus on the girl's son. He was useless plot device and there was one thing he did where the movie doesn't clarify properly. The casting was not bad. I can accept those guys and Peter Dinklage was great. I liked his acting. But, the characters were all so badly written. Kevin James is the worst on screen President. Josh Gad's character was awkward and ''yelly". I know they trying to be a grown up adult nerd but it was just stupid and annoying. Plus Adam Sandler was perfect at being Adam Sandler.

Ont the other side of the coin, I felt that this movie has a great action sequences. I really liked everything that has to do with the alien. It was fun. I really wish they kept the Pac-Man moments out of the trailers because it would make the movie so much better. At least in the terms of surprises. The graphic was good too. It looked real enough and I was not distracted by it.The music was good enough to make this game-come-to-life moment great.

This movie was bad but I can still find fun in it. There were some good stuff and I gotta admit there were thing that made me laugh. So I guess 'Mission accomplished' for the writers. I would rate this a 'C+'. Recommended for every 80's video gamer out there. I wish I had a talking Q*bert.

Fantastic Four

I had the chance to watch this movie and here is my review of it! There might be some spoilers of it. You've been warned!

Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Its clobberin' time! I am serious, this is the time for me to 'clobber' Fantastic Four (F4). I mean why not. I had a short conversation with my brother right after watching this movie We both agree that on the fact that this is a bad movie. The story was fine. I mean I was intrigued to watch this movie right until they introduced Victor Von Doom. I got less intrigue and less and less. This movie fell flat. The pacing was weird, the tone was kinda off and I simply can't put a word to describe this. The action was 'ok'. Nothing new and fun. The acting of several of the actors fell flat. They had one liners that was 'meh'. Dialogue was fine but sometimes too preachy. Their performance was not satisfying. I didn't feel any sadness when these character have to suffer for their loss. They lost someone special and I was like "Oh.. So that person died. Meh, whatever". I don't mind that they were going through the hard times. Their emotions doesn't reach me. These are wonderful actors and actress! What happened? Script? or Directing? The Characters were boring and wasn't fleshed out well and the villain was not strong. I admit I kinda liked how he first appeared but then he just like 'poof' and disappeared. His motivation was established but what he did to implicate his intention and need was nothing but what other villain do. He is a "Kill and destroy because I am evil and I am selfish" kinda villain. The graphic was terrible at times. It just took me out the movie.

There are some good stuff. Like I said I loved the first few minutes. I kinda liked the music. I am fine with the final battle. Not in love but fine with it. There were some Easter egg. I remember a line where someone said about building a prison in the N-Zone. Definitely some awesome reference from the comic. That's all I can think off!

In conclusion, this movie was not good enough to impress me. I tried to be lenient with it but I still can't find more positive stuff to think off. This movie gets a 'C'. Just give back the rights back to Marvel. Maybe they can fix the problem. I recommend this movie to people who really wanna see how bad this movie is.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

I had the chance to watch this movie and this is my review of it. There may be some spoilers ahead! You've been warned.

With the IMF now disbanded and Ethan Hunt out in the cold, a new threat called the Syndicate soon emerges. The Syndicate is a network of highly skilled operatives who are dedicated to establishing a new world order via an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Faced with what may be the most impossible mission yet, Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with Ilsa Faust, a disavowed British agent who may or may not be a member of this deadly rogue nation.

If anyone ever asked you, how do you top Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol? Ask them to watch this movie. This movie packs a wallop! It had great story, great pacing, great action and great characters with top class performances from the actors. What more should we ask? The story was compelling enough to make you focus throughout the movie. Plus the pacing was great. I mean it was all about the timing. This movie has a well balanced amount of drama and action with an added mixture of humor. I had great laughs and I will say that the jokes never felt out of place. There is good directing right there. The action was mind-blowing. This is great with its tension building. So,as the movie went on, the tension rises and with that the action sequences made all of the audience at the edge of their seat. The characters was great. Everyone played an important role and this movie added a layer in the franchise. It has more teamwork, more team efforts than the other Mission Impossible movies and that were shown on how effective the character was. We were invested in them and we want them to succeed no matter what. This also tells that all the actors did a great job giving us a believable and lovable characters.Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and that woman, Rebecca Ferguson. She was absolutely amazing. Such a badass character. The villain was also quite scary and I think he made us all believe that he was what the story want us him to be. Great performance all around.

The problem I have with this movie was that the gadgets were very advance and sometimes things do appear out of nowhere just to save time for the sake of the movie's continuation. I found that rather confusing but I was fine with it. BUt seriously, sometimes the gadgets were there just to serve the plot. Plus this movie does felt like a little bit long. Just a little.

In the end, this movie was thrill ride throughout. This movie was a fun and smart movie. I had a blast and this movie sure lives up to the hype. Definitely check this out. Its awesome. I will rate this an A. Highly recommended!
