Ant Man Preview

With Avengers: Age of Ultron out of our way, the MCU is going toward the day where they debut their smallest heroes in the biggest way possible. Ant-Man is set to arrive in theaters on July 16th this year and will mark the end of Phase 2 of the Marvel Movie slate! Let’s talk about Ant-Man.

As from ImdB, this is the movie’s synopsis

Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

From my perspective, Ant-Man will revolves around Scott Lang, a criminal becoming the unlikely hero after being mentored by the former Ant-Man, Hank Pym. Scott is being tasked to steal a technology, much likely anything to do with the Pym Particle for Hank because that technology could cause chaos when fallen to the wrong hand.

Kevin Feige, Head of Marvel, discussed how Ant-Man will be closing out Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while still factoring into Phase Three

."Phase One ended with Avengers, so some people thought that Phase Two would end with an Avengers film but the truth is, there is so much in Ant-Man: introducing a new hero, introducing a very important part of technology in the Marvel universe, the Pym particles. Ant-Man getting on the Avengers' radar in this film and even – this is the weirdest part, you shouldn't really talk about it because it won't be apparent for years – but the whole notion of the quantum realm and the whole notion of going to places that are so out there, they are almost mind-bendingly hard to fathom. It all plays into Phase Three. It became very clear that Ant-Man is the pinnacle and finale of Phase Two and Captain America: Civil War is the start of Phase Three."

This is a heist movie. What amused me is that the trailer was much likely telling us that this is gonna be a funny movie but the actors and Mr Kevin Feige said that this movie is a heist movie with a father-son-daughter relation as a theme. Humor, like a lot of humor will be there, but mainly this is not a comedy action drama we all thought it would be. I like the way Marvel is going with this movie. Plus there were also this awesome new technology used in this movie. Many people who saw this movie in the making said that the moment Ant Man changing his size is going to be the staple for every movie that he is going to appear in. I can’t wait to see that.

Besides that, this movie will take itself seriously with making the events from Age of Ultron an important factor for the story and the plot as a whole. The fact that this movie has Avengers stuff in it made me excited and nervous at the same time. I’m excited to see who will be making cameos. Haylee Atwell and John Slattery was confirmed to be there a s a cameo. The wasp was also said to cameo in this movie. I don’t know who will play her. There were rumors that Anthony Mackie’s Falcon will also cameo. Also I will be waiting for Easter eggs and name-drops in the movie. There will be a lot of it! What I’m nervous about that if the movie will be bloated with Avengers stuff. This is an Ant Man movie and I want it to be filled with Ant Man. Last but not least, everyone must stay to the end because there is to end credit scenes and everyone who saw it said that it was a very spectacular scene. Be sure to stay until the movie ends.

Anyways, lets just hope we will get a great movie for our viewing pleasure. I’m sure that I will go out fanboying a lot if this movie is great. I’ll still watch it more than three times even if it sucks. I will  leave you guys with a trailer and some great TV spot. Enjoy!

p/s: Spiderman was confirmed to appear in Captain America: Civil War alongside Ant Man.
