Spiderman Cast

Its official! Tom Holland will play our friendly neighbor Spiderman a.k.a Peter Parker. Plus, Jon Watts will be the director of the stand-alone Spiderman movie. Click on the link to learn more about him. For now, let get to know Spiderman first.

Thomas Stanley "Tom" Holland is an English actor and dancer, best known for playing the title role in Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London, as well as for starring in the 2012 film The Impossible.

The question is now, which movie will he appear in prior to his stand-alone movie in 2017? Lets look at Marvel's movie slate.

Ant-Man (16 July 2015)

Captain America Civil War (6 May 2016)

Doctor Strange (4 Nov 2016)

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (5 May 2017)

Spider-Man (28 July 2017)

Thor 3 :Ragnarok (3 Nov 2017)

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Part 1 ( 4 May  2018)

Black Panther (6 July 2018)

Captain Marvel (2 November 2018)

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Part 2 ( 3 May  2019)

Inhumans (12 July 2019)

Between these 4 movie, which will be the one that will mark the debut of the rebooted Spiderman on the big screen?
  • Ant-Man (16 July 2015)
  • Captain America Civil War (6 May 2016)
  • Doctor Strange (4 Nov 2016)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (5 May 2017)

Lets scratch off Guardians 2 because I don't think that Spiderman will appear in such movie. Not more than the end credit scene at least. End-credit scene is not the great way to introduce spidey anyway. I will get that to you in a minute. Keep on reading.

Ant Man has finished production and I can say its almost impossible to see spidey in that movie unless they had actually cast Tom early and  kept  it as a secret. He could also appear in either mid-credit or end-credit scene. But Spiderman is an important character to the MCU and I bet it would be wasteful to introduce him in a sequence that lasted less than 30 seconds. That is why I think Spiderman will not be introduced in mid and end-credit scenes.

Dr Strange is still a contender in my opinion but due to the mystical and magical stuff that Marvel is looking to introduce to the MCU, I don't think that spidey will have a place in such a movie. Besides, I want to see Dr Strange not spidey because its his movie. I'm sure Marvel will not let Spiderman overshadowing The Sorcerer Supreme in his own movie.

So the only movie left is Captain America: Civil War. Yes, Spiderman played a pivotal role in the comic version of Civil War but I don't think the movie version will do the same. They already cast to many A-list actors and its already filled with great characters and adding Spiderman may be the recipe for doom.

At this point, I just hope to see spidey but I hope that Spidey's appearance will not overshadow anyone so I guess he will be in Cap 3.

Anyways, I look forward for more Spiderman news and will update it if I can. See ya Again guys!
